California Assembly Bill (AB 1054)
The Wildfire Legislation enacts a broad set of reforms and programs related to utility-caused wildfires in California, including establishing the California Wildfire Fund...There are three utilities that participate in the California Wildfire Fund – San Diego Gas & Electric Company, Southern California Edison, and Pacific Gas & Electric Company (collectively, the “IOUs”)....
AB 1054 required $5 billion in the aggregate for utility wildfire safety investments with no return on equity for the IOU. It also requires IOUs to file Wildfire Mitigation Plans with the California Public Utilities Commission. These Wildfire Mitigation Plans must cover at least a three-year period and describe the IOU’s plans to implement preventive strategies and programs to minimize the risk of its electrical lines and equipment causing catastrophic wildfires...

Getting Familiar With SGIP

The Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) is an initiative by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) that rewards you with a rebate for installing battery storage in your home if you qualify.
You don’t have to pair your battery storage with solar panels to qualify for the SGIP rebate. However, there are benefits to doing so, especially in California, where there are also incentives for solar panel installation.
Battery Storage Incentives & Rebates
For homeowners and renters in California, a backup battery system may seem like a luxury. But for people who rely on electricity for medical equipment or well water, it can literally save your life during power outages.
Additionally, using residential battery storage during extreme heat or during times of increased fire risks common throughout California can help stabilize the energy grid and prevent blackouts.

Did You Know?...

According to "The Public Advocates Office" California electric bills have essentially doubled over the past decade!

Delivering power to your house can be over 40-60% of the cost on your bill
